SHL TalentCentral Invitation & Login: Candidate Access Guide

If you are trying to open an employer assessment, start with the unique link in your recruitment invitation—not with a login form on a preparation website.

This page explains the documented TalentCentral access route, username and password recovery, duplicate-registration issues, completion checks and where employer assessment results come from. It also separates official SHL services from independent ReasoningCampus preparation.

How to Access an Assessment from a TalentCentral Invitation

SHL’s candidate instructions say that a first-time TalentCentral user needs to create an account. Open the invitation email, follow its link, choose Create Account when prompted, enter the requested details and continue using the instructions displayed on screen.

Use the recruitment invitation.
Do not assume that a generic page found through search belongs to your employer’s assessment project.
Keep the password you create.
SHL notes that you may need it to log back in later.
Check the assessment home screen.
Note the tasks still available to you and read the live instructions before starting.
Keep private data private.
Do not publish invitation URLs, credentials, candidate IDs or confidential employer information on preparation sites.

TalentCentral Candidate Decision Guide

The table below turns the separate SHL support instructions into one candidate workflow. It is a navigation aid: the linked SHL article remains the source for each platform rule.

TalentCentral vs SHL Direct vs ReasoningCampus

TalentCentral

An SHL platform used in assessment workflows. Candidates should follow the employer/recruiter invitation and the instructions shown for their project.

SHL Direct

SHL Candidate Support identifies SHL Direct as a practice website. Completing practice there does not complete the employer assessment.

ReasoningCampus

An independent preparation resource. It can help you understand and practise assessment skills, but it does not provide official SHL logins, employer results or access to private TalentCentral projects.

SHL also states that results from tests completed on the SHL Direct practice website are not shared with the company administering the actual assessment.

How to Check Completion and Where Results Come From

SHL Candidate Support says its assessment platforms do not send completion emails. Instead, the assessment home screen can show a green tick/check mark and a Completed status; the exact display can differ between assessment platforms. If you entered the assessment through a company’s careers site, SHL advises checking the status there or contacting the HR/Careers team.

Once assessments are completed, SHL says the company is notified that results are ready. SHL support can confirm whether tests have been completed, but the employer’s designated results recipient controls access to the results and feedback.

Completion status and result feedback are different questions. A completed status can confirm that a task was submitted; it does not mean SHL support can disclose the employer’s assessment result.

Useful TalentCentral Edge Cases

These questions cover situations that are easy to miss in the basic invitation workflow.

What if I changed my email address when I first registered?

SHL says that if you changed your email address during the first registration, you need to use the new email address the next time you log in. If you are unsure which address was registered, contact the administrator at the company that asked you to take the assessment.

What if the password-reset email never arrives?

SHL advises waiting up to 30 minutes and checking the junk/spam folder. If the reset email is still missing, use the SHL support contact route.

What if the assessment deadline has already passed?

SHL’s TalentCentral client documentation states that candidates cannot complete a test after the project deadline has passed. If that has happened, contact the recruiter or organisation managing the assessment rather than trying to bypass the deadline.

Can SHL confirm that I completed the test even if it cannot give me the result?

Yes. SHL’s completion guidance says support teams can confirm whether you completed your test(s), while the result itself remains available to the designated recipient at the company.

What to Do After You Know the Assessment Name

Access comes first; preparation comes second. Once the invitation or candidate area shows the assessment name, use that wording to choose the most relevant preparation material instead of practising every SHL-style test.

If you are unsure what the assessment name means: use the ReasoningCampus SHL Tests candidate hub to identify the likely assessment family. The hub is independent and is not an official or exhaustive SHL product catalogue.

If the assessment is a reasoning test and you want to practise before choosing a larger programme, the ReasoningCampus free SHL-style practice guide provides independent worked questions. Do not use practice content as a substitute for the instructions in your employer assessment.

Sources and How This Guide Was Prepared

The platform claims on this page were checked against current public SHL Candidate Support and TalentCentral support documentation on . The separate support answers were then organised into a candidate decision flow so that access, account recovery, duplicate registration, completion and results can be handled without mixing them together.

Scope of this guide

It uses public SHL documentation for platform rules and independent ReasoningCampus guidance for navigation and preparation choices. It does not claim access to an employer’s private TalentCentral configuration, proprietary scoring rules or confidential live assessment content.

No private candidate screenshot is presented as evidence. Where screenshots are useful for the access workflow, the page links to SHL’s own support articles that contain official examples.

Next step: identify first, then practise.

If you know the assessment name, choose material for that assessment. If you do not, use the candidate-hub link above rather than opening multiple unrelated test guides.
