ReasoningCampus · SHL Candidate Guides
An SHL employer assessment invitation tells you which tasks you have been assigned. ReasoningCampus offers independent SHL preparation and helps you turn the assessment invitation into a practical checklist. Record the role, recruitment stage, deadline in your local time and any unresolved questions before choosing practice material.

View full preparationYour SHL employer assessment: let the invitation define the task
The ReasoningCampus method is employer, role, location, stage, evidence. Keep those five fields together. A claim about one graduate campaign should not silently become a claim about every experienced-hire vacancy. Then match your preparation to the skills and format actually confirmed.
Check the role, location and recruitment stage together
| Application detail | Why it changes preparation | What to keep |
|---|---|---|
| Role or programme | A graduate route and an experienced role can use different activities | Exact vacancy or programme title |
| Country and language | The instructions and available language may differ | Confirmed location and assessment language |
| Recruitment stage | A reasoning test and a recorded interview need different practice | Named activity from the invitation |
| Campaign date | An older guide may describe an earlier process | Date of the invitation or official announcement |
Use one record per application. The company name alone does not identify a test provider, a format or a pass mark. If a detail is missing, ask the recruiter rather than filling the gap with a result from a different vacancy.
A practical employer-information template
- Employer and exact role or programme.
- Country or location and campaign date.
- Assessment provider and exact name from the invitation.
- Language and response format.
- Permitted aids, navigation and stated timing.
- Support contact and unanswered questions.
Keep private invitation links and candidate identifiers out of a public article. You can describe the confirmed task without exposing access details or confidential questions.

Worked example: two invitations, one employer
Imagine a graduate applicant receives a numerical assessment invitation and an experienced applicant receives a recorded interview invitation. The company name is the same, but the useful preparation differs. The first candidate needs data interpretation and format familiarisation; the second needs relevant examples and recording readiness. A single employer-wide “pass mark” would not resolve either need. This is a hypothetical example, not a statement about a named company.
Check the deadline in your local time
Record the deadline exactly as written, including its date and time zone. For example, a 17:00 UTC deadline is 20:00 locally if your confirmed local offset on that date is UTC+3. The offset must match the deadline date, because daylight-saving changes can affect the conversion. If the invitation and candidate homepage show different times, ask the organiser to clarify before relying on either.
Applying from the US, Australia, Asia or Europe
Start with the same three checks wherever you apply: the exact assessment, the permitted language and the deadline in its stated time zone. An English guide can support international preparation, but it does not establish local recruitment rules or replace a translated assessment tutorial.
| Application context | A useful preparation check |
|---|---|
| United States | For a public-sector role, read the specific agency announcement and assessment instructions |
| Australia and New Zealand | Confirm the programme, deadline time zone and whether any interview stage is recorded or live |
| China and other Asian markets | Confirm the available language and the device and regional access route supplied in the invitation |
| Europe and other international applications | Check language, access arrangements and the relevant recruiter or support contact |
Read the assessment invitation: extract confirmed information
Original message: “Please complete the assessment listed on your candidate homepage by 17:00 UTC on Thursday. The homepage contains the device check and tutorial.” This confirms the deadline’s time zone and where to find further information. It does not name G+, prove a mobile format or identify a question count.
| Record as confirmed | Leave unresolved |
|---|---|
| Deadline: Thursday, 17:00 UTC | Assessment name until shown on the homepage |
| Access route: the supplied candidate homepage | Allowed aids until the instructions specify them |
| A device check and tutorial are provided | Whether another recruitment stage uses a different assessment |
Convert the stated time zone carefully for your location and date. Do not substitute a fixed “Europe time” offset: daylight-saving rules and regional zones can differ.
Questions about SHL employer assessment
Does a company name prove the assessment is SHL?
No. Use the actual invitation or a current authorised source for that recruitment process.
Can you give me the bank graduate pass mark?
No verified employer-specific threshold is supplied here. A practice accuracy score cannot create one.
Why not publish a separate guide for every company immediately?
Each guide needs distinct, verified information for the relevant role and campaign. Changing the company name on a generic page would not answer the candidate’s specific question.

Use the official candidate information together with the actual employer invitation. The five-field comparison method organises confirmed details without inventing an employer test list or a regional benchmark.
